Ellen Tribley Update – 2026 Big Plans & Future Goals
Ellen Tribley, currently ranked World No. 7 in junior girls' wheelchair tennis, has started the new year with big goals and is training with a vengeance to make sure she has the best chance of meeting them.
As a sponsor, we are proud to support Ellen as she continues to climb the ranks and develop her skills. Here’s what she has planned for a busy 2026 and beyond.
2026 Tournaments
Ellen’s primary focus for 2026 is climbing the world rankings to secure her place at the Grand Slams. The entry requirements for these events are strict, as they are the most prestigious individual competitions in tennis.
• French Open (Roland Garros): Only the top 4 juniors qualify for the Spring season. Ellen is pushing hard to climb those three spots before the April cutoff. It’s a big challenge for Ellen to get up to the 4th rank, but that won’t stop her from trying! To make the rank, she needs to consistently reach semi-finals and finals to pick up the 15–30 ranking points awarded at each event.
• US Open: Qualification for New York requires a top 8 ranking. Having competed there before, Ellen is determined to return to the US Open again this year and build on her previous experience.
Expert Support and Training
To help her reach these targets, Ellen was awarded the full TASS (Talented Athlete Support Scheme) package based at the University of Kent. This provides her with professional-level resources, including monthly access to a nutritionist, physiotherapist, and sports psychologist, alongside twice-weekly strength and conditioning sessions.
Outside of her TASS support, Ellen’s training schedule includes:
• Speed and Movement: She is training intensively with successful wheelchair tennis player Reuben Harris. They are working on specific drills to improve Ellen’s movement and speed around the court, which is a particular strength of Reuben’s.
• Match Strategy: Ellen is working closely with her coaches to improve her strategy during matches. They are working on how to construct and win the point when the time is right.
Long Term Goals
Whilst 2026 is about the big junior tournaments, Ellen is already planning for the opportunities the future holds.
Transitioning to the Women’s Rank
Ellen’s time as a junior athlete ends in 2027. Moving into the women’s tournaments represents a significant step up in competition, but it’s a challenge she is already meeting head-on by competing in senior events now to gain a head start.
The Paralympic Dream
Ellen’s biggest ambition is to represent her country as a Paralympian. While she would love to play in LA 2028, her main focus is on Brisbane 2032. To get there, she needs to maintain a high world ranking on the senior women’s tour.
Why the Neo G Active Wrist Support?
Because Ellen’s Cerebral Palsy affects her right side, she wears our Active Wrist Support on her right hand for every match and practice. In wheelchair tennis, the support is essential for her performance; it provides the stability she needs to maintain control of her racket while simultaneously pushing her chair. It ensures her weaker side doesn't limit her speed or precision on the court.
We look forward to following Ellen’s progress as the Grand Slam tournaments approach, and we're right behind her as she moves into women’s tennis. Read more about Ellen's story here.
